New JOBS! A very well regarded pharmaceutical company in suburban MA seeks a highly motivated scientists for the following positions.
Main Tasks
The successful candidate will lead a group of principal investigators and scientists within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in Oncology In Vivo Pharmacology. This group will support anti-cancer drug discovery efforts involving small molecules. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to provide scientific and strategic leadership in oncology in vivo pharmacology, supervise, lead, motivate, organize, and manage the group toward successful project progression for lead discovery, plan and present studies for multiple projects and assist project leaders in developing scientific and technical strategies in a matrix environment.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a PhD with post-doctoral training in cancer biology or pharmacology plus 5 to 8 years of experience in oncology in vivo pharmacology in the biotech or pharma setting. He/she should have a comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of molecular and cellular determinants of cancer, strong in vivo pharmacology skills in oncology, and direct experience with in vivo models of cancer, such as xenograft, syngeneic, and orthotopic tumor models. Candidates should understand pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic relationships and late stage preclinical discovery of compounds to support clinical studies. Good oral and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment are required. Understanding the drug discovery process is a must. Previous management/supervisory experience is required.
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR-ONCOLOGY
Main Tasks
The In Vivo Pharmacology Group is looking for a motivated Principal Investigator with experience in the development of biotherapeutics in the drug discovery setting and the validation and use of in vivo models of oncology. Because of our efforts in cancer drug discovery, this position is key to moving proteins through our discovery pipeline. Responsibilities include development of xenograft models as well as implementation of in vivo imaging techniques. These models will be used to study the effects of Lead candidates on tumor growth, angiogenesis and metastasis. The ability to work in a team environment within a matrix organization is essential, as the incumbent will participate on multidisciplinary project teams. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are critical.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/LANGUAGES — Candidates should have a Ph.D. in cancer biology or in vivo pharmacology and experience with development of protein therapeutics in drug discovery. In addition, knowledge of cancer signaling mechanisms is essential. Understanding of PK/PD relationships is desired but not required. Previous management and supervisory experience is a plus. Verbal and written fluency in and comprehension of English is required.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE —Two to three years of industry experience in the area of in vivo cancer biology or pharmacology is required.
PERSONAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES — Candidates should be competent in the use of computer software for spreadsheets, presentations, word processing and statistical analysis. Good verbal and written communication skills are desirable, as well as the ability to work across functions in a team-oriented environment.
