Job Description Research Assistant Molecular Immunotherapeutics Group Department of Medical Biochemistry and Immunology School of Medicine We wish to recruit a biological sciences graduate to join a newly established team in Molecular Immunotherapeutics within the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Immunology, Cardiff University, studying the molecular basis of increased resistance of tumour cells to innate immunity. The main focus of this project is to design a new generation of immunotherapeutics sensitising tumours to complement attack during immuno- and chemotherapy. Molecular Immunotherapeutics group is currently funded by the Medical Research Council. You will be expected to perform molecular biology/immunology and proteomic analyses to discover the modulators of gene expression of CD59, a membrane-bound regulator of complement. Data interpretation and reporting under the supervision of qualified personnel will be required. You will be expected to work to a high standard of accuracy and be able to work on your own initiative. This full-time post is fixed term for 12 months and is available from 1st November 2007. The successful candidate may also be employed part-time, if desired, and the post-duration will be changed accordingly. Salary: £22332 - £25889 per annum Informal enquiries can be made to Dr. R.
