|
BS in Chemistry or Biology, four years of analytical chemistry or environmental monitoring experience and three years of supervisory experience. Hands-on knowledge of air sampling and analysis, toxic/hazardous chemicals, gas chromatography, wet chemical analysis methods including EPA SW-846 or standard methods. Solid PC skills are required. . This position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a favorable National Agency Check. Requirements also include the ability to obtain as well as maintain Chemical Personnel Reliability Program Certification. Candidates must be able to work any shift in a 24/7 operation.
Job Duties:
The Analytical Supervisor of DAAMS Analysis provides technical and supervisory guidance to an analytical laboratory staff of approximately 20 individuals in the development and analysis of (air monitoring) DAAMS samples using GC-FPD and GC-MSD with multidimensional chromatography. The successful candidate will also serve as backup to the Analytical Manager for the Newport Chemical Agent Disposal Facility. Will also supervise chemical lab staff to ensure adherence to strict analytical protocols, and timely delivery of analyses and responses to monitoring requirements. Will train and certify staff and implement chemical hygiene policies. Will also monitor procurement, use and disposal of chemicals used in lab operations and interface with the client and government representatives as needed
